The inspiration for this design comes from a desire to explore the potential of two simple, graphic planes in juxtaposition, and to consider how these slightly different forms can relate to each other. The design is deliberately expressive, but also simple and references in a gentle way mid-century typologies via the frame structure which allows for a combination of materials which have always appealed - the forgiving nature of wood with the strictness of steel. The result is a chair which has an unmistakable contemporary character and at the same time, a reassuring context. The ergonomics are determined by a flexible connection between the seat and the back which allows the back rest to move with the weight of the user. The chair is designed to be flat packed and dealer assembled to save on transport volume and costs.
