I wanted to reduce the aesthetic of these chairs to their basic essentials that reflected essential ergonomic requirements. These chairs are extremely comfortable, with a generous proportion and size, which allow and encourage different sitting positions. Therefore Tom has straight sides with only an abruptly angled back to suggest its function. Dick and Harry are natural geometric progressions that change one element and create a more complex form. The thinking is also that these chairs will be able to be specified within the same space, but through their variation, provide variety within that space. Tom Dick and Harry each have their own character, but are clearly from the same family.
